Volunteer

Volunteering with Sams is a great way to make a difference in the lives of children and families in the local area.  We have volunteers of all ages, and believe that everyone has something to contribute.  If you are interested in finding our more, please contact Anna Pizzuto-Pomaco or Rev. Ian Aitken.

Past Volunteers and Team

Here’s what some of our current and past volunteers say about it:

“I first got involved with the Sams summer holiday club and thought the children were all filled with such joy and enthusiasm, then I later joined the after school club at Cornhill primary and the FAB club at Kittybrewster with Su. I love SAMs because it gives the children the freedom to be who they are and what they hope to become, to share their thoughts and feelings on certain subjects and it’s just a joy to see them week by week learning the love of God. SAMs is a brilliant organisation.”

Danielle

“I see Sams as a fun, creative way to engage the word of God to young people. I volunteer as I find it very rewarding as well as enjoyable working with the kids of Sams…I enjoy the banter with the kids and believe we are making a significant difference in their lives.”

Curtis (Youth For Christ Worker for Aberdeen)

Many students have volunteered with us in the past and some have gone on to work in related areas. Much of our work is during term time but we have holiday and in-service events too.

If you are a parent and would like to volunteer please feel free to read our parent policy – Parent-Helper-Policy-Document.

Normally volunteers need to have a live church connection and will require a reference from a church leader.  However, if you would like to volunteer and are not involved in a church please contact us to discuss it.
